Being a parent isn't easy, our aim is take a little weight off the shoulders of new parents by providing them with an up-to-date directory of child care providers in their area and offering child care providers with job opportunities. Sitter Seeker connects parents and babysitters or daycare centres from all across North America with our safe, easy-to-use online system.

Sitter Seeker was developed to fill a need. We understood that the Internet lacked a good quality, safe child care referral web site. Unlike traditional babysitting directories who work for babysitters and daycare centres, we work with them to provide the best for both families and babysitters.

We want to provide our users with a warm welcoming feeling when interacting with our web site, so we stuck with one goal in mind, "keep it simple." Sitter Seeker is easy to use and simple to navigate. But don't confuse simplicity with weakness. Sitter Seeker has been in development for over 2 years and has been double checked and checked again to ensure quality of service to our users.

Parents
We know it can be a difficult challenge for parents to find a quality caregiver in short notice, especially for families who have recently moved to a new area and are unfamiliar with there neighborhood. Parents need some time away from the kids, weather it is for work, school, or a night out on the town. With our service you instantly have access to babysitters or daycare centres in your area with a few clicks of your mouse. We only index child care providers who are serious about their jobs by listing caregivers with the most recent activity in the community.

Parents don't always have to go looking for a child care provider. We provide parents with the means of attracting caregivers by providing them with the power to post job openings.

Child care providers
We encourage babysitters who are looking for part or full time work by providing sitting services to sign up for our service. New babysitters simply answer a few questions, provide some contact details and then are provided an account on Sitter Seeker and a babysitter profile which parents view when searching for a babysitters. Registration is fast, secure and always FREE for babysitters.

If babysitters are willing to start work immediately, part of your membership at Sitter Seeker provides you with the ability to search and apply for job openings in your area.

In the beginning
Sitter Seeker was started to provide a directory of child care providers in the developer's small town of Warren Manitoba Canada with about 500 people in the community, then grew into the local communities, then into the region, and then into the province of Manitoba. From here we realized the need for this service on a nation wide scale. Sitter Seeker was then redesigned again to provide service to parents and child care providers across North America. From the west coast, through the Rockies, across the plains to the Atlantic Ocean--Sitter Seeker is now available to anyone, anywhere at anytime.

Awards and achievements
The help of word of mouth began the growth of the Sitter Seeker community. Since Sitter Seeker was a not for profit service, we had no funds for advertising. Word spread like wild fire and reached the desk of Jason Halstead at the Stonewall Argus and Teulon Times. From here the site made it's was into the Winnipeg Sun, Brandon Sun, and even onto CBC Radio One.

Sitter Seeker is maintained by a small Canadian-owned firm which specializes in web development. Owned and operated by Micheal Frank of Eyesis.
